Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.
'Belgravia'
Tulip 'Belgravia' brings a softer, more nuanced warmth to the spring border than a true red ever could, its petals glowing in rich coral tones that seem to shift with the light. Each bloom unfurls like a carefully arranged rosette, layers of silky petals folding over one another to create that full, double form. There is a certain generosity to Tulip 'Belgravia', both in shape and colour, lending a sense of depth and movement even in still air. At around 45 cm tall, Tulip 'Belgravia' holds itself with quiet poise, making it as suitable for structured planting as it is for more relaxed, painterly schemes.
Flowering early in the season, Tulip 'Belgravia' arrives just as the garden begins to stir, its coral hues pairing beautifully with fresh greens, soft apricots or even gentle creams. There is an effortless charm to Tulip 'Belgravia', equally at home in the border or gathered into a generous spring arrangement indoors. The sturdy stems support each lavish bloom with ease, ensuring that Tulip 'Belgravia' remains as practical as it is beautiful. For those drawn to colour that feels both uplifting and refined, Tulip 'Belgravia' offers a quietly radiant presence at the very start of the season.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
