Description
Commonly known as globeflower, Trollius is a beautiful plant for a shady spot in a moist soil. This highly sought-after variety has masses of gorgeous bright orange, round blooms, held at the ends of the stems, from late spring to early summer. Trollius 'Orange Globe' is an upright, low-maintenance perennial. Its deeply cut lobed leaves are dark green – their relatively fine texture sets this plant apart from other garden plants with less refined foliage. Its size makes it perfect for placing towards the front or mid-way in a border. Even better, the flowers are excellent for cutting!
This Trollius × cultorum 'Orange Globe' is most definitely at its most effective when planted in groups. It should be cut back in late autumn, to come back in spring to delight you again. And it will do this every year – under ideal conditions it can be expected to live for approximately 10 years.

Useful information
-
Soak your Trollius 'Orange Globe' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Globeflower" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
