Description
Tiarella 'Spring Symphony' is a graceful foam flower with an easy, woodland elegance that never tries too hard. Forming a neat clump to around 35cm, it produces upright stems topped with airy spires of small, starry flowers in shades from white to the palest pink, creating a light, misty effect above the foliage. There is something quietly musical about Tiarella 'Spring Symphony', especially when planted in drifts where the flowers seem to hover rather than simply bloom. It is exactly the sort of perennial that softens a shady border and makes the whole planting feel more considered. As a recipient of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, Tiarella 'Spring Symphony' also comes with the reassuring stamp of garden-worthiness.
Fresh, refined and pleasingly undemanding, Tiarella 'Spring Symphony' is ideal for partial shade, where it pairs beautifully with ferns, hostas and other foliage-rich companions. The flowers appear in spring and early summer, lifting the planting with a delicate frothiness that explains the common name perfectly. Even when not in flower, Tiarella 'Spring Symphony' earns its place by contributing texture and a calm green presence at ground level. It suits borders, woodland gardens and containers equally well, provided the soil is moist but well drained. For gardeners who appreciate subtle beauty over bluster, Tiarella 'Spring Symphony' is a lovely choice, and one that settles in with quiet confidence.

Useful information
-
Soak your Tiarella 'Spring Symphony' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Foam flower" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
