Description
Exuding allure with its delicate beauty, Scilla bifolia 'Rosea' features tightly packed spires of coral pink buds, each one bursting open into a pretty star shaped white flower. With slightly recurving petals, these tiny blooms have a charmingly haphazard look about them, looking great when planted en masse in groups and drifts. Blooming early, this brilliant naturaliser (commonly know as pink alpine squill) provides precious nectar for pollinators venturing out into the late winter sunshine, making it a vital addition to any wildlife garden.
Tolerant of soils which are on the gravelly, sandy or dry side, Scilla bifolia 'Rosea' also works very well in gravel gardens, dry gardens or alpine schemes. We think it’s diminutive size would make it a lovely addition along paths, or at the front of spring borders and containers, to soften hard edges with its gentle good looks.
