Description
This stocky Scilla mischtschenkoana 'Tubergeniana' is a real little gem, flowering reliably every year with multiple blooms on each stem to provide a stunning blanket of colour. Providing valuable early-season interest, the palest-blue flowers open during late winter and last into mid spring, fading to white which gives them a semi two-tone look. This adorable variety looks great grown under trees or in drifts running through the border, but its high-density blooms and miniature size make it a particularly good choice for growing in patio pots.
Scilla mischtschenkoana 'Tubergeniana' is a great naturalising plant, gradually forming larger swathes of colour year by year. If you have a large area under a tree, these are the ideal, easy-to-grow plant to fit the role. They’re also very reliable for growing in pots too and a great solution if you have a small garden or shady patio, where they’ll just pop up and make a charming display each year with zero fuss.
If you’re looking for a great combination plant for these, try planting them with crocuses or chionodoxa—they’re all great friends!
