Watch with wonder as the tightly-packed flower buds of Ranunculus 'Elegance® Striato Rosa' unravel, revealing layers of silky pink petals which are each defined by a contrasting dark purple edge. It's difficult to find a flower so fascinatingly detailed and petal perfect as the Ranunculus Elegance varieties—it's almost unreal how intricate their blooms are. These are really special pretties to have growing in the garden, and with large blooms and long stems, they’re also a top treat for florists and flower arrangers.
The colour combination of pink and purple is dreamy and romantic and looks especially at home in a pastel planting scheme or cut flower arrangement. Ranunculus 'Elegance® Striato Rosa' needs free-draining soil which does not become too dry—find a sunny spot for them because they need lots of light, ideally they should be grown in borders or large pots because they like plenty of root space. Over winter, they appreciate some protection from harsh frosts.

Plant calendar
Soak the dry claws in plain water for three to four hours before planting. They will gradually plump up as they rehydrate.
Choose a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, well-drained soil. Ranunculus enjoy moisture during active growth, but dislike waterlogged ground and strong, cold winds.
Plant the claws facing downwards, 2–5cm deep and 5–10cm apart. They can be planted directly in borders or containers, or started individually in pots.
Keep the soil lightly moist during active growth, but never soggy. Deadhead regularly to encourage more flowers, then reduce watering as the foliage begins to yellow.
