Description
Does that name sound intriguingly Russian? It is! Puschkinia scilloides var. libanotica is also called the Russian snowdrop, but this is no modest little wildflower. She flaunts, she struts, she grows with fiery abandon, all the while exhibiting an ice-cool and elegant exterior. White with decidedly blue tinges, Russian Snowdrops are happy to compliment your other spring flowering bulbs, and do so with grace, but unlike some of them, she'll be back next year for another command performance.
Like other snowdrops, your Puschkinia scilloides var. libanotica will be happy in sunshine or light shade but will forgive you for planting them in shade that's a bit too deep for narcissi. A scented flower that’s an economical and attractive choice for almost any garden.
