Description
Our Pulsatilla 'Semi-Duplici' blend offers an exclusive selection of semi-double, large pasqueflowers that bursts into life in early spring with a delightful array of bell-shaped flowers in shades of purple, pink, and white. Each flower in this mixture is surrounded by a halo of soft, feathery foliage, adding texture and interest. As the blooms fade, they are replaced by silky seed heads that offer additional beauty and movement, making this plant a true delight throughout the seasons.
Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, pulsatillas are perfect for rock gardens, alpine beds, or sunny borders. Pulsatilla vulgaris flore semi-duplici prefer a position with good air circulation and can tolerate poorer soils, making them ideal for dry or stony ground. Pulsatilla 'Semi-Duplici' is also well-suited to naturalistic planting schemes, where its delicate blooms can thrive in a sunny, undisturbed spot.
The soft, pastel tones of Pulsatilla 'Semi-Duplici' make it an excellent companion for other early spring perennials such as primulas, anemones, and hellebores. For a contrast in form, plant with ornamental grasses or alongside tulips to create a dynamic and varied display. The semi-double-flowered Pulsatilla 'Semi-Duplici' is a magnet for bees and other early pollinators, providing a valuable nectar source in spring. This hardy perennial is low-maintenance and long-lived, gradually spreading to create a naturalised display over time. Its ability to withstand poor soils and dry conditions makes it an excellent choice for sustainable gardening, as it requires minimal care once established.
Pasqueflowers open in the sunshine but close each evening or during cloudy weather, responding to changing light conditions naturally.

Useful information
-
Soak your Pulsatilla 'Semi-Duplici' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Semi-double pasqueflower" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
