Description
With a name like Phlomis 'Bronze Flamingo', you might expect something extravagant—and this pink sage-leaf mullein does not disappoint. Towering stems rise above bold, textured foliage, topped with tiered whorls of dusky pink flowers that fade to a rich bronze as they mature. This ever-evolving colour show makes Phlomis 'Bronze Flamingo' a striking addition to borders, lending both height and structure. Not just a feast for the eyes, this perennial is also a magnet for pollinators, ensuring bees and butterflies flock to its blooms throughout summer.
Despite its exotic looks, Phlomis 'Bronze Flamingo' is as tough as they come. Drought-tolerant and happy in poorer soils, it thrives in sun-drenched spots and requires little maintenance beyond the occasional tidy-up. Even when the flowering season is over, its seed heads provide sculptural interest through autumn and winter. Whether planted en masse for a dramatic display or mixed among other perennials for contrast, Phlomis 'Bronze Flamingo' brings year-round appeal. If you’re looking for a plant with personality, resilience, and a touch of wild beauty, Phlomis 'Bronze Flamingo' ticks all the boxes. Also known as Phlomoides tuberosa 'Bronze Flamingo', it’s a standout choice for any garden.

Soak your Phlomis 'Bronze Flamingo' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Sage-leaf mullein" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
