Description
For a creamy white, double-flowered perennial peony, look no further. Paeonia 'Bowl of Cream' is a 60-year-old cultivar that has stood the test of time—it has never been surpassed for its garden worthiness. Each beautiful, creamy, bowl-shaped flower, up to 25cm across, comprises curly petals radiating from the centre. The outer petals of Paeonia 'Bowl of Cream' are larger, while the inner petals (which have a yellowish hue) are smaller, concealing bright yellow stamens. Oh, and the blooms are delightfully fragrant, too.
Paeonia lactiflora 'Bowl of Cream' is a mid-season Lactiflora peony, meaning that it flowers in late spring/early summer. Despite their size, the blooms are very weather-resistant, coping well with rain. The attractively divided leaves are of a glossy, deep green. Paeonia 'Bowl of Cream' is a real showstopper of a plant—and don’t forget, the blooms may be cut for vase decoration indoors!

Soak the Paeonia 'Bowl of Cream' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
