Plant daffodil bulbs from September to November. If needed, store them somewhere cool and dry, away from mice, but plant before they begin to deteriorate.
'Young Devotion'
daffodil
Narcissus 'Young Devotion' has an air of quiet confidence—no need for garish colours or flouncy frills when you can simply be breathtaking. These fully double blooms are generously sized and elegantly poised, facing upward as if to catch every last drop of spring sunshine. At first glance, the ivory-white outer petals speak of refinement, but take a step closer and you'll find a sumptuous core of pale yellow petaloid segments, layered like the folds of a silk scarf. Narcissus 'Young Devotion' matures with grace, as its buttery centre deepens into a richer golden hue—proof that ageing can indeed be beautiful.
This variety isn’t just about looks, either. Narcissus 'Young Devotion' is blessed with a gentle fragrance that adds to its charm without overwhelming the senses. Whether tucked into a naturalistic border or gathered en masse in a vase indoors, it brings a sense of calm luxury. And let’s face it, anything that blooms with such plush abundance and smells sweet while doing it deserves a little admiration. Narcissus 'Young Devotion' may sound modest, but in reality, it's a quietly glorious daffodil with presence, poise, and a certain golden glow that develops with time—how very devoted indeed.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, two to three times their own height deep and around 10cm apart. Smaller bulbs can be planted slightly closer together.
Water after planting if the soil is dry. Established bulbs in borders rarely need more, but water during dry spring weather and keep containers lightly moist.
Remove faded flowers, but leave the stems and foliage until they turn yellow and die back naturally. The bulbs can remain planted throughout the year.
