White daffodils are elegant, golden daffodils are cheerful classics – which will you choose? Get the best of both words with bicoloured 'Topolino' daffodils. The outer petals are white, the inner cups are glowing gold. Together, the two colours make for a radiant combination. Do plant them in generous clumps for the best effect, and mix them up with blue blooms like grape hyacinths or true hyacinths for a combination that is a match as well as a contrast.
Narcissus 'Topolino' thrives on neglect, returning faithfully every year with no special care needed. Others will marvel at your gardening prowess. Don’t tell them how easy it was!

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, two to three times their own height deep and around 10cm apart. Smaller bulbs can be planted slightly closer together.
Water after planting if the soil is dry. Established bulbs in borders rarely need more, but water during dry spring weather and keep containers lightly moist.
Remove faded flowers, but leave the stems and foliage until they turn yellow and die back naturally. The bulbs can remain planted throughout the year.
