Description
Narcissus 'Saint Clair' is a romantic double daffodil with the refined poise of the beloved pheasant’s eye narcissus, only with a little more ruffle in its collar. Inspired by the graceful Narcissus recurvus, it carries crisp white outer petals around a softly layered centre, where creamy white segments mingle with warm hints of yellow and orange. The result is delicate, painterly and just formal enough to feel special, without looking as though it has tried too hard. Narcissus 'Saint Clair' has that late-spring freshness which seems to tidy up the garden simply by flowering.
Plant Narcissus 'Saint Clair' in generous drifts through borders, meadow-style schemes or beneath deciduous shrubs, where its pale flowers can glow against emerging green foliage. It is also lovely in a cutting patch, bringing a graceful, lightly nostalgic mood to spring arrangements. Like many daffodils, Narcissus 'Saint Clair' is pleasingly easy to grow in well-drained soil, thriving in sun or light shade and returning reliably when left to settle undisturbed. Elegant, scented in spirit and beautifully composed, Narcissus 'Saint Clair' is a charming choice for gardeners who enjoy classic narcissi with an extra flourish.
