Plant daffodil bulbs from September to November. If needed, store them somewhere cool and dry, away from mice, but plant before they begin to deteriorate.
'Pre Party'
daffodil
Fresh, poised, and quietly uplifting, Narcissus 'Pre Party' is a charming herald of the spring season. Forming neat clumps of slender, strap-like foliage, Narcissus 'Pre Party' rises to around 30cm, carrying its elegant blooms just above the leaves where they can be fully appreciated. Each flower opens upward, its linen-white petals gently swept back to reveal a soft, pale yellow cup at the centre. There is a lightness to Narcissus 'Pre Party' that feels effortless, as though it has arrived just ahead of the main celebration, setting the tone for what’s to come. Planted in clusters, it brings a sense of calm brightness to borders and naturalistic schemes alike.
Flowering in March, Narcissus 'Pre Party' bridges the quiet of late winter and the fuller energy of spring, making it an especially valuable addition to layered plantings. Its restrained colouring pairs beautifully with early perennials and other bulbs, allowing more vivid companions to shine while still holding its own with subtle grace. The gently reflexed petals and upward-facing blooms give Narcissus 'Pre Party' a refined, almost weightless quality, particularly when stirred by a soft breeze. For gardeners who appreciate understated beauty and thoughtful composition, Narcissus 'Pre Party' offers a perfectly timed and elegantly delivered performance.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, two to three times their own height deep and around 10cm apart. Smaller bulbs can be planted slightly closer together.
Water after planting if the soil is dry. Established bulbs in borders rarely need more, but water during dry spring weather and keep containers lightly moist.
Remove faded flowers, but leave the stems and foliage until they turn yellow and die back naturally. The bulbs can remain planted throughout the year.
