You can’t go wrong with a chunky yellow daffodil around Easter, and Narcissus 'Lucky Number' hits the nail on the head. It’s chunky, strong, long flowering and has nice big traditional blooms. This variety has the benefit of being fairly compact in height, but without compromising on flower size. The large beaming blooms of Narcissus 'Lucky Number' do a great job in shining like the sun in the garden, and whilst doing so they remain sturdy and upright in neat and eye-catching groups or drifts. These daffodils are perfect if you love uniform, tidy displays and a good helping of spring colour.
You can plant Narcissus 'Lucky Number' bulbs in your garden in autumn and they will flower every year around March/April. Over time, these perennial bulbs multiply and form a good clump. These daffodils are ideal for planting in borders or grassy areas where they can naturalise, but also do brilliantly in patio containers. Try pairing them with Muscari for a perennial display you can enjoy again and again.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, two to three times their own height deep and around 10cm apart. Smaller bulbs can be planted slightly closer together.
Water after planting if the soil is dry. Established bulbs in borders rarely need more, but water during dry spring weather and keep containers lightly moist.
Remove faded flowers, but leave the stems and foliage until they turn yellow and die back naturally. The bulbs can remain planted throughout the year.
