Plant daffodil bulbs from September to November. If needed, store them somewhere cool and dry, away from mice, but plant before they begin to deteriorate.
'Kokopelli'
daffodil
Narcissus 'Kokopelli' may have a dainty appearance, but this charming jonquil certainly knows how to put on a show. Each slender stem can carry up to four beautifully proportioned flowers, creating a generous display without losing any of its natural grace. The blooms of Narcissus 'Kokopelli' are a warm butter yellow, with slightly deeper yellow cups adding just enough contrast to bring their elegant form into focus. Appearing from the middle to latter part of the daffodil season, they bring welcome colour as earlier varieties begin to fade. Better still, Narcissus 'Kokopelli' is sweetly scented, so a sunny border or container planted generously with these bulbs offers fragrance as well as colour.
With several flowers held on each stem, Narcissus 'Kokopelli' is particularly effective planted in informal groups through borders, beneath deciduous shrubs or in patio pots where its perfume can be appreciated at close quarters. It is also an excellent daffodil for cutting, with the flowers lasting well in arrangements and a good handful providing enough fragrance to gently scent a room. Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit, Narcissus 'Kokopelli' combines dependable garden performance with a distinctly refined character. Pair it with blue muscari, late tulips or other narcissus for an easy spring composition. Cheerful, fragrant and remarkably floriferous, Narcissus 'Kokopelli' proves that sometimes several smaller flowers can make quite a grand impression.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, two to three times their own height deep and around 10cm apart. Smaller bulbs can be planted slightly closer together.
Water after planting if the soil is dry. Established bulbs in borders rarely need more, but water during dry spring weather and keep containers lightly moist.
Remove faded flowers, but leave the stems and foliage until they turn yellow and die back naturally. The bulbs can remain planted throughout the year.
