Plant daffodil bulbs from September to November. If needed, store them somewhere cool and dry, away from mice, but plant before they begin to deteriorate.

Narcissus
'Ice Follies'
daffodil
Serve up cups of bright light on icy saucers for a spring tea party as your garden warms slowly after the winter cold. Narcissus 'Ice Follies' with their crimped large cups are filled with a tea of luminous lemon yellow as they flare from white outer petals so pristinely pure they glow like china. As the flower matures and nature drinks the bright yellow from the cups, they fade to pale alabaster. Ice Follies daffodils will return for its early to mid-spring tea party every year with more and more guests. This Narcissus spreads well and requires little care. Its fragrance also adds to the party feel.

Plant profile
Plant calendar
Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, two to three times their own height deep and around 10cm apart. Smaller bulbs can be planted slightly closer together.
Water after planting if the soil is dry. Established bulbs in borders rarely need more, but water during dry spring weather and keep containers lightly moist.
Remove faded flowers, but leave the stems and foliage until they turn yellow and die back naturally. The bulbs can remain planted throughout the year.
