Description

Almost luminous yellow multi-layered petals curl this way and that in the double Narcissus 'Ascot's flower. More than just a touch of green accents the acidic yellow as it twists around a heart dotted with small fragments of reddish orange. The resultant effect is reminiscent of the jockeys’ silks at the prestige Royal Ascot horse race. Wearing them, the Narcissus 'Ascot' won itself an Award of Merit way back in 1962, and it’s still a few lengths ahead more than 50 years later.

Double Narcissus 'Ascot' is considered to be the improved double Narcissus 'Tahiti' among the professional daffodil community. Narcissus 'Ascot' produces larger double blooms and the stems are strong so the big double blooms will hold up very well. Many double narcissi have spiky stems and have a difficult time not to fall over, this is for sure not the case with Narcissus 'Ascot'. These race-stopping blooms are excellent perennials. They attract bees and butterflies, but are deer and rabbit resistant.
