Description
Plant a swathe or potful of this cute little Muscari muscarimi (also known as Musk Hyacinth) in your garden and you’ll notice a distinct heady whiff of vanilla when they’re in bloom! This is one of the best grape hyacinths for scent, and you don’t even have to get your nose right in to smell them. On warm days, their musky fragrance fills the air around them to greet you every time you pass by!
With nectar-rich blooms typical of all Muscari, it goes without saying that this is a popular plant for bees. The flowers fade from mauve to cream which creates a dreamy gradient bicolour which really suits their scent. As naturalising bulb, over the years more and more will pop up – handy if you like to pick flowers to display in your home. A bunch of these scented beauties make very pretty posy for a dainty stem vase.
