Lycoris aurea

yellow spider lily

If you like flowers that flaunt a fancy, exotic look, you’ll just love the spectacularly radiant and showy blooms of Lycoris aurea. This absolute charmer, also known as Yellow Spider Lily, produces an upright stem topped with a glorious plume of golden-yellow lily-like blooms in late summer. Perfect for planting in pots and using as a centrepiece on the patio table, this luxurious feast for the eyes is bound to impress your guests!

A relative of Amaryllis, these tender bulbs can be treated in a similar way. Lycoris aurea loves to be in sunny, warm conditions and can provide a really wonderful display in sunny summer beds or patio pots, looking particularly good when combined with simpler shrubs or foliage plants. Similar to Amaryllis, you can also grow this impressive Golden Spider Lily plant indoors and enjoy its flamboyant, summery looks in your home or conservatory.
