Description

Let Liriope 'Monroe White' light up the shade with its wonderful wands of white blooms! This evergreen perennial is a modest megastar of a plant, shining with aplomb in autumn when those blooms emerge, but preferring to reside out of the spotlight in the shady corners of the garden. This frivolous, free-flowering woodland siren is a real tough cookie and gives a lot in return for very little, being fully hardy it braces for the elements and stays strong, keeping its leaves to cover those areas which would otherwise be bare soil. Coping in dry conditions, even dry shade, Liriope 'Monroe White' is the answer to a tricky planting spot and will gradually spread to fill the space with lush greenery through the year, along with of course a special time to shine with flowers between late summer and winter. With its nectar-rich blooms, it’s beloved by pollinators including bees and other insects too.

Together with a supporting cast of white and cream variegated hostas and shade-loving ferns, Liriope 'Monroe White' will keep you entertained for most of the year. Also known as lilyturf, is a hardy, evergreen perennial growing to approximately 45cm when mature. Give it an easy start to life by planting the bare root into a temporary pots and growing it on outdoors for a few months until it’s established some growth before planting it out into any less favourable conditions, Liriope 'Monroe White' will feel worth the extra step at the start when your see it established in its new forever home, demanding very little for years to come.
