Description
Lily 'Saltarello' is one of the exciting new class of lilies, known as the oriental × trumpet lilies, often seen as orienpets. Their large blooms carry the perfume of the oriental lily, with the strong growth habit of the trumpet lily. All orienpets are hardy, and well-suited to the British climate. With Lily 'Saltarello' you have gorgeous, warm, butterscotch-yellow flowers, with a deliciously spicy fragrance. The blooms are carried on tall, sturdy stems. Established bulbs can produce as many as 20 blooms on each stem, with each bloom around 12-18cm across. The leaves are narrow, glossy and deep green.
Lilium 'Saltarello' forms a strong growth habit, and will grow more than 150cm in height. It will create a stunning, bright display in sunny beds and borders, and it will also perform exceedingly well in large pots and patio containers. Of course, its blooms may be cut for stunning indoor arrangements as well.
