Plant lily bulbs within one to two weeks of delivery, as they dislike drying out. Until planting, keep them somewhere cool, dry and frost-free.
'Red Flash'
Radiant and dramatic, Lily 'Red Flash' is a scene-stealer in any summer border. Each magnificent bloom unfurls in a velvety red, flecked with darker speckles and, on occasion, brushed with a soft white edge that seems to catch the light. This Oriental lily’s generous size and luxurious scent make it the sort of flower that stops visitors mid-step. Whether rising elegantly from a pot or glowing among other late-summer blooms, Lilium 'Red Flash' brings both colour and poise to the garden—an effortless way to add a little theatrical flair without ever feeling overdone.
Plant Lily 'Red Flash' somewhere you can enjoy its fragrance up close, perhaps beside a path or near a terrace where the evening air will carry its perfume. Its tall, sturdy stems make it a fine candidate for cutting too—one or two in a vase fill a room with scent. Like all Oriental lilies, Lilium 'Red Flash' thrives in rich, free-draining soil with its roots shaded and its head in the sun. Treat it kindly and it will reward you year after year with an encore performance of sumptuous, ruby-red blooms.

Choose full sun or partial shade with rich, well-drained soil. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose or soil-based compost with added horticultural grit.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and 15–20cm apart. Arrange them in groups of three to five for a generous, natural-looking display.
Water after planting, then keep the soil evenly moist once growth appears. Avoid waterlogging, particularly while the bulbs are dormant, and never let containers dry out completely.
Add stakes when planting taller varieties to avoid damaging the bulbs later. Remove faded flowers, but allow stems and foliage to yellow naturally before cutting them back.
