The smile of the faces of oriental Lily 'Mona Lisa' flowers are not as enigmatic and mysterious as that of Leonardo da Vinci’s classic masterpiece that hangs in the Louvre in Paris. Instead, these bright pink beauties are very open, their petals smiling wide in great cheer. Oriental Lily 'Mona Lisa' is exellent for on pots! The compact plant bears a considerable number of these smooth-edged flowers which are neatly trimmed with white and sport a slightly mysterious throat decoration of lime green outlined with yellow. Deep maroon streaks down the middle of the petals, and a light covering of spots, add extra charm. Let 'Mona Lisa' make a masterpiece of floral art in a vase or brighten up the containers or borders in your garden!

Choose full sun or partial shade with rich, well-drained soil. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose or soil-based compost with added horticultural grit.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and 15–20cm apart. Arrange them in groups of three to five for a generous, natural-looking display.
Water after planting, then keep the soil evenly moist once growth appears. Avoid waterlogging, particularly while the bulbs are dormant, and never let containers dry out completely.
Add stakes when planting taller varieties to avoid damaging the bulbs later. Remove faded flowers, but allow stems and foliage to yellow naturally before cutting them back.
