Description
Hydrangea 'Groundbreaker Blush' reimagines the Hydrangea paniculata for modern gardens, offering a compact, low-growing habit that spreads more in width than height. Reaching just 30-40 cm tall, Hydrangea 'Groundbreaker Blush' is perfect for creating a soft carpet of blooms across borders, patios, or garden beds. From July through November, its delicate white flowers slowly blush into gentle pinks, transforming any space into a season-long display of subtle colour. The lush, finely branched foliage supports a profusion of blooms, making Hydrangea 'Groundbreaker Blush' a striking ground cover in small gardens or container plantings. Its tidy habit also makes it a charming choice for public green spaces, garden tables, or terrace pots, offering the beauty of a classic hortensia in a much more compact form.
Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, Hydrangea 'Groundbreaker Blush' rewards regular winter pruning with a spectacular floral show each summer. The blooms’ transition from crisp white to soft pink adds dynamic interest throughout the season, while the plant’s low stature ensures it never overwhelms neighbouring plants. Hydrangea 'Groundbreaker Blush' is hardy to −30°C, making it resilient in UK gardens. Whether used as a border edge, a patio statement, or a low-maintenance groundcover, Hydrangea 'Groundbreaker Blush' combines elegance, versatility, and a generous flowering period, proving that even petite paniculatas can make a big impression.

Useful information
-
Soak your Hydrangea 'Groundbreaker Blush' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Hortensia" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
