Plant hyacinth bulbs from September to December. If needed, store them somewhere cool and dry, away from mice, but plant before they begin to deteriorate.

Hyacinth Hollyhock
No, there’s no such thing as red diamond, but if such a thing existed, it would reflect in the crimson petals of this truly remarkable hyacinth. Every one of the tightly packed florets that make up the hyacinth’s flower spike sparkles in the sunlight. Just take a closer look. The petals almost seem to be covered with diamond dust! Hyacinth 'Hollyhock' is known for its double florets.
Hyacinth 'Hollyhock' is absolutely unusual and unique. Pink, white and blue hyacinths are true classics, but the rich colours of modern hyacinths eclipse these old favourites. Red? Unheard of! Until you found this cultivar… Modern and exciting, the red hyacinth still has the wonderful, fresh scent you’ve come to expect from the classic colours.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Wearing gloves, plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 10–15cm deep and around 10cm apart. Their naturally purplish outer skin is perfectly normal.
Water after planting if the soil is dry. Border-grown hyacinths rarely need further watering during winter, but keep containers lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, but allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. The bulbs can remain planted, although flowering may become less dense over time.
