Description
Shimmering with tropical charm, Hibiscus 'Starburst Chiffon' is a true garden delight. This elegant tree hollyhock bears semi-double, white to chiffon pink flowers, each brushed with a starburst of deep pink veins radiating from the centre. The effect is dazzling—like sunlight filtered through stained glass—and with blooms reaching up to 10cm across, every flower feels like a work of art. Flowering generously through the height of summer, Hibiscus 'Starburst Chiffon' brings a sense of brightness and joy to borders, patios and sunny corners alike.
Strong, upright and beautifully proportioned, Hibiscus 'Starburst Chiffon' grows to around 2–2.5 metres tall, forming a neat, deciduous shrub that’s both resilient and easy to care for. It thrives in well-drained soil and a sunny, sheltered position, rewarding even modest attention with an abundance of blooms that last from midsummer into autumn. Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, this striking variety combines reliability with elegance—making Hibiscus 'Starburst Chiffon' a perfect choice for gardeners who appreciate long-lasting colour, refined form, and a hint of the exotic.

Useful information
-
Soak your Hibiscus 'Starburst Chiffon' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Tree hollyhock" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
