Description
Billowing like summer silk caught in a soft breeze, Hibiscus 'Pink Chiffon' is the very essence of late-season elegance. This double-flowered rose of Sharon unfurls its delicate, ruffled blooms from midsummer right through to autumn, each blossom a dreamy swirl of pale pink brushed with deeper rose at its heart. The semi-double flowers—around 8cm across—are borne freely on strong, upright stems, creating a display that seems almost too luxuriant to be hardy. Yet hardy it is, and remarkably easy to grow. Rising to around 2m tall, Hibiscus 'Pink Chiffon' brings both structure and softness to borders and mixed shrub plantings, where its lobed, fresh-green leaves provide the perfect foil to its long succession of blooms.
Plant Hibiscus 'Pink Chiffon' in a sunny, sheltered spot—perhaps near a path or seating area where its subtle beauty can be appreciated up close. It thrives in fertile, well-drained soil and rewards minimal attention with weeks of floral abundance just when many other plants are fading. Whether grown as a specimen or woven into a late-summer tapestry of warm hues, Hibiscus 'Pink Chiffon' lends an air of effortless romance to the garden.

Useful information
-
Soak the Hibiscus 'Pink Chiffon' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Double rose of Sharon" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost within a week of delivery and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
