Description
Helleborus 'Pirouette' is a graceful hellebore with a dancer’s sense of timing, arriving from mid-winter to mid-spring when the garden is rather grateful for any sign of choreography. Pink buds open into soft white flowers tinged with rose, then deepen to a richer pink as they mature, so each clump holds several shades at once. The effect is gentle, romantic and quietly animated, never static. Growing to around 40cm tall, Helleborus 'Pirouette' forms a clump of dark green evergreen leaves, giving structure through the colder months and a handsome setting for the abundant flowers. It is refined, but not at all precious.
Plant Helleborus 'Pirouette' in dappled shade, beneath deciduous shrubs or along a winter path where its changing colours can be properly admired. Its pink-flushed flowers look lovely with snowdrops, cyclamen, pulmonarias and early narcissi, while the evergreen foliage helps keep borders feeling composed before spring gets fully underway. Helleborus 'Pirouette' is also well suited to containers near a doorway, offering a close-up view of those charming, colour-shifting blooms. Once established, it is pleasingly undemanding, needing only fertile, free-draining soil and the occasional tidy of older leaves. For a winter hellebore with poise, warmth and a touch of theatre, Helleborus 'Pirouette' performs beautifully.

Useful information
-
Soak your Helleborus 'Pirouette' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
