Description
Helleborus 'Glenda's Gloss' is a beautifully polished member of the Frostkiss® hellebores series, with foliage that earns its name long before the flowers arrive. The bushy, clump-forming plants carry leathery, marbled leaves in deep green, finely traced with silver veining, so winter borders gain structure as well as shimmer. From late winter into early spring, apple-green buds open into large, cup-shaped blooms of white washed with violet-pink, gathered around a soft pink eye. Helleborus 'Glenda's Gloss' has a poised, almost porcelain quality, although it is far more resilient than it looks, which is just as well in February.
Use Helleborus 'Glenda's Gloss' in dappled shade, beneath deciduous shrubs or beside a path where its flowers can be admired without crouching too theatrically. Its silver-marked foliage works wonderfully with snowdrops, cyclamen, pulmonarias and early narcissi, while the pink-flushed blooms bring warmth to cool planting schemes. Evergreen to semi-evergreen, Helleborus 'Glenda's Gloss' keeps a handsome presence through the quieter months, settling into humus-rich soil with reassuring ease. Remove tired older leaves as buds rise to reveal the display at its best. Elegant, long lasting and gently distinctive, Helleborus 'Glenda's Gloss' gives the winter garden a welcome sense of gloss without ever becoming showy.

Useful information
-
Soak your Helleborus 'Glenda's Gloss' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
