Description
Helichrysum 'Red Jewel', also known as strawflower, is a striking evergreen perennial that brings both elegance and colour to your garden. With its soft, silvery foliage forming a lush backdrop, this plant produces clusters of ruby-red buds. The bold colour of Helichrysum 'Red Jewel' creates a beautiful contrast against its silvery leaves, making it a stunning addition to borders, rockeries, and pots. Its compact, bushy habit ensures it holds its shape throughout the seasons, providing year-round interest in your garden.

Thriving in well-drained soil and a sunny spot, it’s perfect for adding both texture and vibrant colour to your garden with minimal fuss. Its evergreen nature means that even when it’s not in bloom, the soft silvery leaves still offer structure and colour, especially in winter. If you're looking for a low-maintenance perennial with plenty of personality and year-round appeal, look no further than Helichrysum 'Red Jewel'.

Useful information
-
Soak your Helichrysum 'Red Jewel' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Strawflower" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
