Geum 'Prinses Juliana' has a vintage charm which pairs beautifully with the muted tones of bearded irises like 'Kent Pride'. Geums are naturally a meadow plant, favouring a fertile and moist soil. In drier areas they can still be made to feel at home with a really good mulch of organic matter that will help to retain moisture levels in the soil. Soak your Geum 'Prinses Juliana' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Avens" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
