Description
Geranium 'Havanna Blues' is a relaxed, low-spreading cranesbill with the sort of easy charm that makes borders look as though they arranged themselves beautifully. Growing to around 40cm high, it sends out trailing stems clothed in neat green leaves, creating a soft, informal mound through the season. The flowers are the real conversation piece: light violet-blue, each with a lighter central zone and striking dark purple veins. Geranium 'Havanna Blues' has that lovely painterly detail which rewards a closer look, without ever demanding one too loudly.
Use Geranium 'Havanna Blues' at the front of borders, spilling gently between roses, weaving through perennials or softening the edge of a path. Its long flowering shoots give it a slightly nonchalant habit, which is very much part of its appeal, especially in naturalistic and cottage-style planting. Pair Geranium 'Havanna Blues' with silvery foliage, soft pinks, lavender blues or fresh lime greens for an airy summer scheme. Once established, this hardy herbaceous perennial is pleasingly undemanding, bringing colour, movement and useful ground cover with minimal fuss. For a cranesbill with delicacy, vigour and beautifully veined flowers, Geranium 'Havanna Blues' is a quietly stylish choice.

Useful information
-
Soak your Geranium 'Havanna Blues' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Cranesbill" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
