Description
Put on a banquet for bees and butterflies in your garden this summer with the help of Geranium 'Breeders Mix'. A collection of multiple glowingly vibrant hardy perennial geranium varieties are included so you can create an irresistible melange of pink and purple hues which will not only be eye catching for you, but also your local pollinators. Hardy geraniums are about as low maintenance as plants can be. They’re unfussy about soil and aspect and hardly ever need watering (once settled in). What’s more, as they’re fully hardy, you can just leave them to their own devices outdoors all year round and they will make a comeback every summer, providing a wider coverage each year!
Geranium 'Breeders Mix' is supplied as a collection of three bare root plants which can be planted directly outdoors in spring into prepared borders. Alternatively, you can put them in temporary pots to grow on for a few months prior to planting out - this helps your bare root plants to get off to a good start, allowing them to grow new roots and put on some top growth undisturbed. Plant them in mixed borders in sun or shade to help create that beautifully informal cottage-style effect.

Soak the Geranium 'Breeders Mix' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Mixed cranesbill" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
