Towering above their smaller sisters, these yellow crown imperials could easily steal the show, if they didn’t make such a great background for other floral performances courtesy of your other spring flowering bulbs. Combine regal Fritillaria imperialis 'Lutea' with Fritillaria imperialis 'Rubra Maxima' for a flaming display of gold and red, or use it on its own. Mass it as a background planting or dot it around among less statuesque flowering plants. No matter what you do, these golden beauties will astound and delight you and visitors to your garden.
