Description
If you fancy large, perennial pompom flowers in a bright, vivid orange, then look no further than Echinacea 'Marmalade'. This upright, clump-forming member of the daisy family is covered with double, round-headed blooms, comprising numerous petals. They appear from June to September, and are yellowish at first, but gradually change into the vibrant orange. No stamens are visible — and the flowers can reach 12cm across. Botanically, its orange ray florets are topped with large, rounded, pompom-like cones, with darker orange disc florets! However, all you really need to know is that it’s stunningly beautiful!
Echinacea 'Marmalade' (Cone-fections™ Series) is the perfect summer border and patio plant. The mid-green leaves are roughly hairy, but the flowers are the reason to choose it — and don’t forget, because these flowers are held on long, strong stems, they are great for cutting and using indoors. And they stay fresh for a long time.
Echinacea is a low-maintenance, undemanding plant that thrives both in garden soil and in containers, and is often used in naturalistic prairie gardens. It is fully hardy and easy to grow, making it ideal for gardeners of all skill levels.

Useful information
-
Soak the Echinacea 'Marmalade' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Coneflower" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
