Description
If you love sweet treats but you’re trying to be good, settle for some decadent eye candy, courtesy of Echinacea 'Blueberry Cheesecake'. This petal-tastic number is a feast for the eyes, featuring a generous helping of shaggy petals which form a dome-like dollop in the centre, not to mention that delicious-looking blueberry syrup colour. Whether your garden style is a fruit bowl of colour or you prefer a sweet pink and purple scheme, this variety is one to indulge in.
Find a sunny spot for Echinacea 'Blueberry Cheesecake' and this hardy perennial will reward you for years with its beautiful blooms from mid to late summer. It’s clump forming, which means each year you can expect to see more flowering stems produced as the clump grows over time. Coneflowers really are good enough to eat for pollinators, who adore their nectar-rich blooms! If you’re into growing your own cut flowers, snip a few stems of this gorgeous Echinacea 'Blueberry Cheesecake' and they’ll make your arrangements look extra special.
Blueberry cheesecake, anyone? This delicious double coneflower is a real showstopper—with deep bluish-maroon cones and violet-magenta petals, it's sure to turn heads. It may be just around 40cm tall—but with its many stems and dense, compact habit, it'll still make a serious statement in your garden! Plant Echinacea 'Rainbow Marcella' in a spot in sun where it can easily be seen.
Note that it is around 50cm tall and will bush out as it gradually forms a wider clump over the years. It’s a gem in a mixed border with other summer flowering perennials and easily combines with most colours. You can create a really bright display, or go for a more muted, hazy look by planting these coneflowers with ornamental grasses.

Useful information
-
Soak your Echinacea 'Blueberry Cheesecake' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Coneflower" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
