Description
The luxury flower power provided by Echinacea 'Blackberry Truffle' is a real treat for the eyes. There’s something beautifully quirky about this bright Echinacea, with is pompon-like blooms which are formed of masses of shaggy petals. Whilst this coneflower is packed with petals and does not display the central cone which is typical of most Echinacea, it still brings in the bees and butterflies who enjoy the nectar-rich centre. Not only is this variety beautiful in a border and benefits pollinators, it’s a fantastic cut flower too—what a versatile plant!
Despite its flamboyant, almost exotic looks, Echinacea 'Blackberry Truffle' is a fully hardy perennial which is easy to care for. Each year, it will grow back and flower again between mid to late summer. Typical of hardy perennials, this Echinacea establishes over time to form a generous clump which produces multiple flower stems, increasing in number each year. Flowering on tall, upright stems, this variety works well in the middle to back of a border, planted in impressive groups or swathes.
This coneflower variety is sure to be the envy of your garden! Echinacea 'Blackberry Truffle' is unlike any other, producing bright pink pompom blooms that are sure to make your garden the talk of the town. Plant Echinacea 'Blackberry Truffle' en masse to create a dazzling border that will have your neighbors turning green with envy. Not only does it look amazing, it's also excellent for cut flowers and for attracting pollinators like bees and butterflies. Make sure to get your hands on this little truffle of a coneflower to take your garden from meh to magnificent!
Plant Echinacea 'Blackberry Truffle' in a spot in sun where it can easily be seen. Note that it is around 45cm tall and will bush out as it gradually forms a wider clump over the years. It’s a gem in a mixed border with other summer flowering perennials and easily combines with most colours. You can create a really bright display, or go for a more muted, hazy look by planting these coneflowers with ornamental grasses.
