With luxuriously nectar-rich blooms, beneficial pollinators simply won’t be able to resist this fork-toothed ookow. Pretty and purple, Dichelostemma congestum is ideal for adding an airy touch to planting schemes, with long, slender stems which sway in the breeze and little globe-like clusters of lilac-mauve flowers at the top. Grassy foliage extends the season of interest, emerging before the flowers and bringing a lovely contrasting texture when sat amongst floral planting schemes.
Low maintenance Dichelostemma congestum is the ideal choice for planting in sunny borders where they will cope well with drought. For best results, plant it in a sheltered or secluded sunny spot and it will reward very little care with a fabulous, long-lasting display.
