Description
Delosperma 'Ice Cream Fire' is a fiery little gem that’s as tough as it is striking. This mat-forming, evergreen succulent forms a low-growing carpet, reaching just 5-15 cm in height, making it an excellent ground cover for sunny, dry spots. The daisy-like flowers are where Delosperma 'Ice Cream Fire' truly shines, with bold red petals surrounding a dramatic dark-pink heart. These vibrant blooms make a fiery statement in your garden, adding a splash of colour that contrasts beautifully against its fleshy, green foliage.
What makes Delosperma cooperi 'Ice Cream Fire' even more appealing is its resilience. Like other ice plants, it thrives in well-drained, poor soils and is highly drought-tolerant, making it ideal for low-maintenance gardens, rockeries, or even as a container plant. This hardy succulent flourishes with minimal care, giving you long-lasting colour throughout the summer. Whether you're filling in gaps in your borders or creating a colourful, low-growing carpet, Delosperma 'Ice Cream Fire' adds a fiery pop of colour wherever it's planted. Soak your Delosperma 'Ice Cream Fire' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Ice plant" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
