Description
"Wow!" This is the exclamation made by everyone who catches sight of Dahlia 'Tartan' for the first time. Its large flowerheads bring wonder and jollity to the garden. Dahlia 'Tartan' is a unique dinner-plate dahlia. Its flowers comprise long, wavy petals in shades of deep, luscious blackcurrant (almost black at the centre), and pure bright white, providing an amazing contrast. Flowers may be as much as 20cm across, and they are accompanied by fresh green foliage and stems. The first blooms may start to open from June (depending on when planted, and the weather), and can continue until October. Plants reach a height of 100-120cm.
Dahlia 'Tartan' is the perfect choice for a mixed flower border, or a patio container; the huge flowerheads make this dahlia an eye-catching choice. It is also ideal for the allotment or cutting garden, as dahlias make superb cut flowers for the vase!
