Radiating elegance and sophistication, the striking flowers of this giant decorative dahlia reach a whopping 20-25cm across, their rich, velvety red petals splashed and streaked with pure white. Particularly sturdy stems stand up well to wind and rain and make this variety an excellent choice for cut flowers. The blooms of Dahlia 'Sturm Sweet Nicole' can be expected from mid-summer until the first frost.
For best results, provide well-draining soil and a sunny location. Plant the Dahlia 'Sturm Sweet Nicole' tubers after the last frost, placing them about 10-15cm deep and 45cm apart. Alternatively, you can give them a head start by planting in pots as soon as they arrive in spring and keeping them in a greenhouse or conservatory until time to move them outside. As the big blooms flourish, consider providing support to the stems to prevent any flopping.
