Description
Dahlia 'Genova' has a clever way of encapsulating balmy summer days with its softness, romance and lavender hues. Flowering from mid summer until the first frosts, the blooms emerge creamy-white brushed at the edges with purple, and then gradually become suffused with the softest shade of lilac, contrasting beautifully with a darker eye in the centre. Each ball is neatly packed with layered rows of cute curled petals, forming that characteristic ball shape. The lovely flowers of Dahlia 'Genova' are complemented by dark stems and lush dark-green foliage.
The tall, strong stems of Dahlia 'Genova' make it an excellent cut flower for dreamy, summery bouquets. In the garden, it would be perfect for introducing a touch of romance after roses and other cottage garden favourites are starting to fade. Easily integrated into borders, it grows to about 70cm, and isn’t too large for a good-sized container. Dahlia 'Genova' would look fabulous grown alongside darker purple dahlias, or among pinks and whites for harmonious contrasts.
