Description
Jump on the jungle trend this year and flaunt all the best kinds of foliage! Colocasia 'Blue Hawaii' deserves to be a part of it, with massive heart-shaped leaves during summer which are striped with cool blue-black veins. Grow this taro indoors or move it outside for summer—there’s something very soothing about the way those ‘elephant ear’ leaves wobble in the breeze on top of strong dark stems. Indoors or out, position this tropical plant in dappled or filtered light. Colocasia 'Blue Hawaii' can grow up to 1.5m tall once mature and the leaves form a lush canopy which looks just as good (if not better) from underneath than it does from above!
Being an exotic plant, Colocasia esculenta 'Royal Hawaiian® Blue Hawaii' needs to be kept in warm conditions. Plant your bulb in a pot and leave it indoors during spring, it may take a while to sprout but once it does you can enjoy watching its magnificent leaves unfurl one after another, each one larger than the last. You can keep Colocasia 'Blue Hawaii' as a houseplant or move it outside to a partially shaded and sheltered part of the garden in summer—enjoy a long-lasting leafy scene through summer into early autumn.
Our Colocasia bulbs are grown and cultivated in Costa Rica.
