  • Plant your canna lily rhizomes in spring and grow on in warm, frost-free conditions to plant out after risk of frost has passed
  • Grow in borders or containers in full sun
  • Plant the rhizomes 5-10cm deep with the shoots exposed
  • Space the plants about 25-30cm apart
  • Plant with the shoots facing upwards
  • Water-in after planting and keep hydrated while in growth

On the sandy soils of the Dutch flower bulb district, Alfons and Monique van Haaster grow world class cannas of unrivaled quality. Alfons grew up in a traditional flower bulb nursery family and has been practicing his passion for cannas for over 30 years. He is one of very few growers in the Netherlands who is specialised in cultivating cannas!
