Caladium 'Kathleen'

Sweetheart Caladium 'Kathleen' will dash some colour into your growing space with a happy bundle of candy-pink-blotched leaves. The fascinating semi-translucent pink hearts in the centre of the leaves steal the show, especially when the light shines through them. The thick green outer edge of each leaf provides the contrast and defines the shape. Pink and green are always a pleasing colour duo in the plant world — these soft tones are really sophisticated and will sit nicely within any mini-jungle, whether it’s indoors or out!

Caladiums are tropical plants and will happily settle into the comfort of a consistent room-temperature growing environment. So the best thing is to start them off as houseplants in the spring and wait for them to start flaunting their leaves. If you can bare to part with them indoors, when the weather is warm enough you can nestle them into a cosy shaded spot in the garden where they will create a lush and leafy jungle effect throughout the summer! Caladiums are deciduous perennials for summer interest, in autumn they will naturally die back.
