Description

Can a begonia really rival a rose? To put it to the test, try planting Begonia 'Rosebud' this spring. Her pink and white bicolour beauty will have you in a quandary: better than a rose? She is certainly as beautiful. Perhaps it would be best to simply enjoy her as she is – a fairy-tale princess among begonias! Each bloom is accentuated by the deeper pink edge that highlights each petal to perfection. View Begonia 'Rosebud' from near, view her from far: either way, she catches the eye. Give her bright, indirect light, and let her illuminate your containers or beds near areas where you often relax on a summers’ day!

Other information

    • Begonia 'Rosebud' tubers are tender and require protection from frost. For best results, start them off in temporary pots in a greenhouse in March or April to give them a head start. They can then be transplanted outside in May.

    • Begonia tubers can also be planted directly outside into borders or containers in May.

    • When planting in containers, multipurpose compost is the ideal choice of growing medium.

    • Plant the Begonia 'Rosebud' tubers shallowly with the dipped side facing upwards—the top of the tuber should be around 1-2cm below the soil surface.

    • Space the tubers around 15-20cm apart from each other in a container display, or 20-30cm apart in borders.

    • Water-in thoroughly after planting and water regularly while in full growth. Don't allow them to sit in wet soil while still dormant.
