Begonia 'Fimbriata Red' will really have you seeing red - and it will have nothing to do with being angry. Instead you will be charmed by this small plant’s plentiful display of large bright red blooms that will bring to mind large, very frilly carnations. Its fringed petals are tightly packed and the resultant blooms soften the colour’s effect a little, taking the bright red off the boil and keeping it simmering for most of the summer!
Flowering of Begonia 'Fimbriata Red' bulbs will be prolonged if you remember to cut off the dead flowers as they fade. Plant them in tubs or planters, or use them on border edges.

Begonia 'Fimbriata Red' tubers are tender and require protection from frost. For best results, start them off in temporary pots in a greenhouse in March or April to give them a head start. They can then be transplanted outside in May.
Begonia tubers can also be planted directly outside into borders or containers in May.
When planting in containers, multipurpose compost is the ideal choice of growing medium.
Plant the Begonia 'Fimbriata Red' tubers shallowly with the dipped side facing upwards—the top of the tuber should be around 1-2cm below the soil surface.
Space the tubers around 15-20cm apart from each other in a container display, or 20-30cm apart in borders.
Water-in thoroughly after planting and water regularly while in full growth. Don't allow them to sit in wet soil while still dormant.
