Description
If you like the burnished, coppery tones which are currently peaking in plant fashion, then you’ll love the toasty burgundy-brown blooms of classic Bearded Iris 'Kent Pride'. Naturally flowering from May to June, chic bearded iris such as this are a regular crowd-pleaser in show gardens at the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Iris germanica 'Kent Pride' is particularly engaging with its distinctive, richly-coloured standards combined with glamorous gold-flushed falls. Plant a patch of these dusky wonders and you’re in for a real treat!
Drought tolerant and low maintenance Bearded Iris are the ideal plant for a sunny, dry part of the garden - the more they’re baked in the sun, the better they flower. Plant the roots level with the soil surface to ensure it gets plenty of sunlight, you will need to water them regularly to start with but once they’re settled they’ll happily do their thing with very little in the way of intervention.
