Description
As the days begin to shorten and the garden’s late-summer hues take on a gentler glow, Aster 'Pink Star' comes into its own with effortless charm. This large Michaelmas daisy stands tall and graceful, its branching stems clothed in slender, mid-green leaves that form a neat clump—perfect for bringing order to the relaxed abundance of an autumn border. From late August right through to the first frosts, Aster 'Pink Star' produces sprays of lilac-pink blooms, each centred with a cheerful yellow eye that seems to capture the last rays of summer sunshine. Whether planted en masse or woven between ornamental grasses and seedheads, this elegant perennial brings balance, light and continuity when the garden begins to wind down.
Aster 'Pink Star' is a generous performer, easy to grow and generous with its late-season display—no diva behaviour here. Bees and butterflies adore its nectar-rich flowers, making it as valuable for wildlife as it is for aesthetics. In return for little more than a sunny position and well-drained soil, Aster 'Pink Star' rewards with a haze of soft colour and an easy poise that lifts the entire border. Cut a few stems for a vase indoors, and you’ll find its daisy-like simplicity just as captivating close up as it is in the garden.

Useful information
-
Soak the Aster 'Pink Star' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Michaelmas daisy" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost within a week of delivery and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
